SDP Alliance in Budapest
Quadriga Consulting Client The SDP Alliance will be taking its messages to IIR’s Evolving Service Delivery Platforms conference in Budapest on June 11-14.

With a keynote presentation from Per Lindblad of member firm Mobile Cohesion, and a post-conference workshop on 14 June, the SDP Alliance is making itself available to delegates from across Europe and beyond. Delegates at the 2007 conference will learn how to massively improve service delivery platforms to enable faster and more cost-efficient service creation and delivery across both legacy and Next Generation architectures.
As operators struggle to come to grips with SDP related decision-making this event will provide the ideal forum in which to learn from other operators’ successful business models and deployment strategies. The SDP Alliance, as the leading consortium of pre-integrated SDP software components, is already leading the debate in terms of achieving rapid return on SDP investment.
According to Per Lindblad, CEO of SDP Alliance member Mobile Cohesion, “Understanding how to develop a cost-effective, scalable and flexible SDP that optimises return on investment is increasingly about developing frameworks that leverage both the content-centric and network-centric aspects of telecoms architecture.
“At the SDP Alliance we focus on how to use of best-of-breed product components that are pre-integrated with internal and external enablers. Such an approach has far-reaching benefits over many traditional techniques.
“In my presentation, and in the follow-up workshop, we’ll be explaining to operators how to minimise the cost of integrating, and providing an effective interface, between the SDP and legacy systems such as operational and business systems and billing. Therefore our focus is on increasing the flexibility of the SDP.”
Colm Healy, Co-Chair of the SDP Alliance, who will be participating in the post-conference workshop, commented,
“This IIR event is well respected and a great venue for us to discuss the key challenges facing operators. These include the role that a consortium such as ours plays in picking and mixing the key enablers such as partner management, network abstraction, content management, service discovery, personalisation, device identification, and rendering and convergent charging.
“Attendees will leave with a better understanding of how to achieve efficient service lifecycle management to support the rapid rollout, operation and retirement of services”.
